Movie NIGHTS

How to transform your already amazing back deck into a movie land

  1. The Los Angeles easy solution - I know I talk these guys up a lot (JoyMode) but it has made hosting on a budget game changer.
  2. The Long Term Solution - Investing in a projector. I use the word "invest" because friendship requires investments and I believe in spending money on things that allow people to be together. Which is why I'm not doing great financially.
  3. Screen - Find a wall or build your own screen with PVC pipe outdoor movie screen
  4. Sound - This one is really tough because sound is pretty much make or break IMO. Joymode uses this Behringer PA speaker, and the sound was awesome and direct. I got 0 neighbor complaints and trust me that's a victory.
  5. Drank - Make water and drink available. A beverage bucket is on my wish list.
  6. Popcorn - whether you microwave or rent a popcorn machine and buy your popcorn packets, popcorn is essential (turns out) to a movie night. You can also do chips. JK you can do whatever you want.
  7. Vibe - Mexican blankets, friendship, string lights.
  8. Movie Introduction - as host, it's important you introduce your movie - the cast, the plot, the awards won. Hook your friends. So they never leave.
