Invitations Matter
“I believe that first impressions are very important.”
“Yuh, no shit. ^”
Simple, Homemade and Mysterious
By combining real images with hand drawn letters, stars and your label maker...you too can make this invitation.
A World Class photo to draw in your party people
Know that this photo is what will lead people to do what's best for them. Come to YOUR party and eat YOUR food and drink YOUR drank.
How to succeed:
- I used photoshop...I will do research for other alternatives. I know there are free alternatives for PC and Apple does let you write text in Preview and on the photos app...
- Keep it simple - put other details in the PaperlessPost or in the email or text so it doesn't have to clutter your masterpiece.
- Use PaperlessPost (an online e-vite solution) and upload your invitation without all their add ons and it's free!
- Make sure your party is better than your invitation.
repurpose childhood photos
Add a fun title that rhymes with your age and lure in your friends.
How to succeed:
- Choose a photo with good space and a hell of a face.
- In photoshop, I pixelated the background to make it a bit simpler so that text could be better read.
- Put the most important information on the card and save the details for the evite or a text.
Never underestimate The Power of your 5th grade artistic abilities
You might not believe this but this card got more compliments than anything I've ever produced. Julia and I employed our block lettering and clipart skills to lure innocent neighbors to our party. Also - photoshop free!! So anyone can do this and be coooooool.
How to succeed at this:
- Commit - just like dancing and singing even our worst skills can be deeply enjoyed through one's undying commitment. Commit to the joke and win.
- Use a pen that you care about - draw different clip art of things you'll have at your party or people you love. Cut them out. Tape or glue them to the invitation paper. Card stock was nice but again no pressure.
- Scan the invitation - There is just something about those little shadows.
- Create a digital version so that you can have it forever and then also print and hand deliver to your neighbors so you can make friends and not die alone.
Go SPORTS
Prove your love of sports and sports related snacks with this invitation. Trick your friends into thinking you care about sports by hosting a Super Bowl party.
How to succeed at an invitation such as this:
- Find out what time and when there is a sports game.
- Buy Ruffles (not an #ad...yet)
- Invite friends over with an invitation that encourages sports.
- Eat Ruffles (#ad) with onion dip and feel bad about it for 30 seconds.
“A party invitation is an invitation to friendship and maybe someone else’s party”
